I am a Junior Three Dimensional Design student at Abilene Christian University who strives to continually create something everyday. My focus is on sculpture and functional design. I enjoy bringing to reality that which the imagination can form, whether it be a unique bronze cast or one of a kind coffee table. But before I ever get to the sculpting, building, or 3D form of art I thoroughly explore the designs in sketches, illustrations and paintings to ensure I've discovered as many options in the idea as possible.|
At the age of 6 I dreamt to be a mermaid, and being told that wasn't an option did not stump my passion for it. It fueled the desire for majestic adventures that I read about in story books and saw in animated films, and that passion as a child still follows me into my art work. Mermaids, octopi, pirates, dragons, favorite storybook characters and other fantasy and nautical symbols, these childhood dreams are what I bring to reality with my art.
Perfectionist barely begins to describe my work ethic. I will work hours on something and when I realize a detail needs to be changed also requires a complete redo, hesitation never occurs; I immediately begin working the new design to ensure a divine product in the end. I live for art and creation and that means this isn't just work to me but life. I can keep a level head in stressful situations and know realistically what can or cannot be done, but I can always dream of far out ideas that I know will one day be reality.
